BC Week 25 – Rainy Day Ideas

What do I do on a rainy day?

There are so, so many things you can do on a rainy day, like hundreds of things you can do. Personally what I do on a rainy day is either read a book, have a movie marathon, do some colourings in some of my adult colouring books, brainstorm blog posts ideas or play board games (or active wii games if I’m alone).

For this week’s blog post I’ve decided to list 20 things you can do on a rainy day!

1. Catch Up With Friends
Call a few friends and organise to spend the day inside together. You could watch movies, play board games, pamper yourselves or even have a good ol’ sleepover (adults can have sleepovers too).

2. Cooking!
If you know it’s going to rain make a trip to your local store and buy a bunch of ingredients, that way when it rains you’ll be prepared and have enough ingredients to do some cooking.

Something I like to do is buy a bunch of random ingredients and experiment with said ingredients!

3. Nap
Sometimes you just need a nap.And falling asleep to the sound or rain is so soothing and relaxing.

4. Clean
It needs to be done sometime, why not doing it now?

5. Have A Movie Marathon
I mentioned this was something I like to do on a rainy day and honestly, it’s the best. Personally I prefer to have a horror movie marathon, I really don’t watch to anything else (other than Disney movies). But if you have Netflix you could watch basically anything. A idea could be to see how many of the IMDB Top 250 list you can get through before the rain stop.

6. Record A Timelapse
If you have a great view of the rain (or even storm) set up a camera and let it record for a few hours while you do something else. When the rain has stopped you can edit the footage later. Timelapses are always a beautiful thing to watch.

7. Read A Book (Or 10)
There’s really no better time to read a book then when it’s raining. Reading is always a good idea.

8. Drink Wine & Tell Stories
Perfect for a nighttime get together or just with your significant other. Talking about your future, or you past is also a great way to get to know others!

9. Do Some Colouring
Another one of the things that I mentioned I like doing. Adult colouring books are such a relaxing thing to do. They’re perfect for destressing. Listening to the rain while doing some colouring in would be absolutely perfection.

10. Workout
Find some YouTube videos and do some workouts. There are plenty of equipment free workout videos on YouTube.

11. Do Some DIY’s (Or Crafts)
This is a great idea, especially if you have reckless kids with you. There’s a multitude of videos and online tutorials (Pinterest) for all types of DIY’s. Most of the supplies you probably already have laying around the house!

12 . Blog // Make YouTube Videos
Personally something that I love doing on a rainy day. Blogging or making YouTube videos is always a great thing to get into. If you’ve always wanted to start doing one of these, now wouldn’t be a bad time to start. If you already do one of these things (or both) why not brainstorm some ideas or plan out posts/videos?

13. Build A Fort
There’s nothing better than building a fort on a rainy day.

14. Move A Room Around
Similar to cleaning the house, but different. If you’ve always wanted to change one of the rooms in your house but never got around to it, now’s the perfect time. You’re stuck inside all day so you’ll definitely have the timeΒ to move a room around.

15. Plan A Trip
You know that place you’ve always wanted to visit? Plant for it. What you would see, where you would go, what you would do, how much money you would spend. Even if this trip never actually happens it’s kind of relaxing to plan for something. And if you happen to go on said trip in the future you’ll already be planned for it!

16. Do Some Online Shopping
Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean you can’t go shopping. Treat yourself to a few online deals!

17. Work/Study
If you have work to catch up on or studying to do now would be a perfect time to do so.

18. Start A New Tv Series
Similar to having a movie marathon, a rainy day would be the perfect opportunity to find a new tv series to watch, especially if you’re almost finished the one you’re currently watching.

19. Play Board Games
Board games are always a good idea, and what better time to play them when it’s raining and you have nothing better to do. There’s so many board games out there that you couldn’t possibly run out of games to play!

20. Listen To The Sound Of The Rain
Seriously, just do it. Turn off everything that connects to power and just listen to it.
