Foods That Help With Acne

Acne is one of the most annoying skin conditions to deal with. Everyone has dealt acne at some point in their lives, most likely during their teenage years. Some people get acne more severely than others do.

Personally, I’ve have suffered with acne for about 6 years now. I’m still in my teenage years so I know that may not be as long as some of you have been dealing with acne. I tend to find myself constantly looking for ways to lesser my acne using natural products rather than skin care products.

Today I have decided to do a post listing a few foods (some drinks) that will naturally help clear your skin of any toxins.

Green Tea
Green tea is commonly known as one of those “health” foods everyone should try once. Green tea is good for strengthening your immune system and fighting against acne.

Salmon
Salmon is a rich source of omega 3Β fatty acids which helps to clear up acne and stabilize hormones.Β Salmon is also rich in B vitamins, zinc, and Vitamin E, which help to repair skin and renew cell growth.

Oysters
Oysters contain zinc, getting enough zinc can reduce the risk of acne breakouts. No one knows why exactly it helps, but it does!

Flaxseed
Another food high in omega 3 fatty acids, flaxseedsΒ have anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants. Some people have even said to use them as a facial or body mask. Making a flaxseed paste can also help with reducing acne scars.

And finally, water (duh)
Drinking the daily recommended amount of water (8 cups) cleanses your body and removes unwanted toxins. Without drinking a sufficient amount of water toxins, bodily waste, and sometimes bacteria can be trapped within your skin without theΒ hydration needed to flush them out, which increases theΒ likelihood of acne.
